Following an
historic Special General Meeting, held at
Balbirnie Park Golf Club on 3rd February 2025, the unification of
the Fife Golfing Association and the Fife County Ladies Golfing Association was
completed.
Both organisations received positive votes for
unification at their separate AGMs in late 2024, and a small unification
team worked quickly since then to get organised
in good time for the 2025 playing season.
The new body Fife
Golf Ltd has been established as a
“Private Company Limited by Guarantee” and will be known as “Fife Golf”.
Fife becomes only the second Area in
Scotland to join forces, following the lead of Scottish Golf North, who merged
in 2018.
Representatives from 19 Clubs were in
attendance to hear Chairperson Jim McArthur explain the details of how the
organisation will be structured, and the proposed
plans for the coming year.
Personnel details are: Co-Chair: Marina Hope (Kirkcaldy GC) and Jim McArthur (New Club, St Andrews); Vice-Chair: John Baxter (Lundin GC); Secretary: David McPherson (Burntisland GHC); Finance Convenor: Aileen Baker (Crail GS); Performance Convenor: Karin Sharp (Kirkcaldy GC); Competition Convenor: John Baxter; Marketing & Communications Convenor: Lorraine Morrow (St Regulus GC)
