Volunteers Wanted For Course Rating

The 2016 course rating season will soon be underway.

After many years of service Joyce Flannigan has decided to retire and will not be joining the team this year.  We are very grateful for the service that Joyce has given and her experience will be missed.  The team now consists of four members which is not really sufficient to cope with rating five or six courses each year.
We are therefore looking for volunteers who are willing to join the team with a view to becoming fully qualified independent raters.
Each golf course takes a minimum of four or five hours to rate and this is done on the golf course.  Afterwards standard documentation needs to be completed by the rater to record the assessment.  Training and support will be provided and formal training seminars, run by Scottish Golf Ltd, are usually held each year.  It may take three or four years of training and experience to complete the learning curve but as well as being beneficial it can be a lot of fun.
The current rating team is Norma Moyes, Fiona Hill, Emma Wilson and Gordon Hill.
We would love to hear from anyone interested in joining us and who has sufficient time at their disposal.  If you would like to find out more or would like to volunteer then please contact either Norma Moyes at or Fiona Hill at
We look forward to hearing from you.
